Saxophone mouthpiece refacing

During my time in New York I became more and more interested in the craft of mouthpiece refacing. Thankfully I was able to learn from Matt Marantz. I do mouthpiece work for professional players from the european scene.

Please get in touch if you would like me to work on your mothpiece.

Testimonials

Hans Ulrik, 1st tenor DR Big Band
Steve Swallow, Lars Jansson, Anders Jormin, John Scofield, Peter Erskine, Gary Peacock

“I have had the great pleasure of having Christian work on some of my Selmer mouthpieces. He did an excellent job on all of them! He is very talented as a craftsman, very thorough and knowledgeable- and on top of this a top notch saxophonist. I can highly recommend him”

Karl Martin Almqvist, 2nd tenor DR Big Band
Nduduzo Makhathini

“Christian Holm Svendsen is not only a very driven and expressive musician/saxophonist who has a mature approach to his music making. He is also good at refacing mouthpieces. Knowledgeable, meticulous and has learned from one of the best in the field in New York. That Christian is also such a driven saxophonist is a huge plus in this context. I highly recommend his work.”

Peter Fuglsang, lead alto DR Big Band

“Christian is a true wizard when it comes to mouthpiece refacing. I’ve had two mouthpieces worked on by Christian’s capable hands and they’ve been highly improved. Christian is a saxophonist himself and his care, attention and knownledge has my full support.”

Hans Mydtskov, saxophonist and teacher at Danish National Academy of Music

“It turns out that Christian Holm-Svendsen, in addition to being a truly great saxophonist, is also exceptionally skilled at improving saxophone mouthpieces. He has just worked on two Selmer Soloist ebonite tenor mouthpieces for me. They have been opened and adjusted, and throughout the process I was in dialogue with Christian about my preferences regarding tone, resistance, etc. They have both turned out unusually good, and I can only give him my warmest recommendations. As a saxophonist, you feel truly happy when you find the right mouthpiece — and that is exactly the feeling I have now.”
